“The Islamic Association of North Western Australia engaged Aussie Boat Courses and Peter Ilott to provide training and assessment to obtain the Recreational Skippers Ticket.

The 24 adult students were mainly Cocos/Malay where English is a second language. Peter provided an informative classroom training course with visual displays and models. Part of the session was translated which enable students a full understanding of the text.

At the assessment Peter provided feedback to the students who had submitted incorrect answers.

About 50% of the students were exempt from the practical assessment, although the students who underwent this assessment, picked up vital marine safety skills and enjoyed the outing on the water.
